The HR buyer community, in their own words

991 substantive messages from a 4,000-person Thai HR/OD LINE community (HR นอกตำรา), Jan–Jul 2026, coded by the buyer lens: what HR people actually own, ask peers about, and spend money on.

The blunt read: This is where our buyers gather, and their energy goes almost entirely to compliance, payroll, HR systems and legal. Our territory (manager / people / culture development) is 12% of the talk, the lowest-urgency, and caught 4 of 58 money signals — every one just "where do I find a cheap KPI trainer / a short course." The people-pain is loud and real. HR does not buy a solution for it. They ask a peer for free and move on.
Money actually moving (48 asking · 10 spent · 933 none) points at HR systems, payroll outsourcing, e-signature, salary-structure consulting, and paid summits — not development.

The 8 fires in our territory (117 messages)

Tap a fire for the gist, verbatim Thai, what HR does about it today, and the honest "would they pay?" read.

28frequent-sick-leaveweak buyer
HR's biggest headache is the employee who keeps taking sick leave (often Mondays or peak periods) and HR cannot tell real illness from malingering nor legally touch it.
What HR does now ask peers / demand medical certificate / call to 'check in' / visit the home / progressive warning / terminate on health grounds
Would they pay? Highest-volume pain but classic free peer-advice venting. HR wants templates and surveillance hacks, not a paid tool. The only funded sliver is labour-court-defensible absence management, felt mainly by mid/large firms. Weak buyer.
16noncompliance-time-theft-monitoringweak buyer
HR cannot get compliance from employees who talk instead of work, ignore orders and emails, or waste hours, and scrambles for ways to watch, contain and prove it.
What HR does now isolate the employee / verbal then written warning / demand passwords / check CCTV / draft a social-media policy / ask peers
Would they pay? Daily supervisory drag HR expects line managers to already handle. Peers advise for free. It is really a basic-management skill gap, not a product. Weak buyer; small firms might pay for a cheap monitoring/policy checklist.
14firing-legal-riskmoderate buyer
Termination is framed almost entirely as legal risk: how to exit someone fairly and cheaply without a lawsuit, and the mirror fear of being pushed out without severance.
What HR does now consult peers / negotiate a severanced mutual exit / invoke an early-retirement scheme / endure to vesting / DIY the paperwork
Would they pay? Closest to funded pain: real money (severance, lawsuits) at stake. But Thai HR still DIY with peer templates and a friendly labour lawyer rather than a paid product. Willingness rises with company size. Moderate.
9hr-ethics-compromisedweak buyer
HR is ordered by owners or bosses to act unfairly or illegally, often while lone and unsupported, and weighs complicity against court exposure and conscience.
What HR does now comply reluctantly / document to self-protect / cite Supreme Court rulings upward / resign / accept that blame lands on the company
Would they pay? HR's own moral injury and court-fear. Powerful empathy hook but the sufferer has no budget and rarely controls purchases. Unfunded venting, not a buyer, though it reliably flags the toxic cultures that do need the boss-level product.
8discipline-warning-lettersweak buyer
HR is anxious about the exact wording, sequence and authority to issue written warnings and suspensions without the case collapsing later.
What HR does now ask peers for wording / cite the work-rule article / verbal warning first / draft and get boss + committee to sign
Would they pay? Template-hunting and procedure anxiety, supplied free by peers. A court-tested discipline toolkit has mild 'lawsuit insurance' value, but most HR treat it as 'ask a friend.' Weak buyer.
8crisis-cost-cuttingweak buyer
Under company losses HR is told to push unpaid leave or salary cuts and is searching for a sequence and a consent form that is both legal and survivable for morale.
What HR does now tiered cuts (top first) / transparent comms / forced-consent leave forms / survey a hours-cut / ask peers for the 'right' sequence
Would they pay? Episodic, triggered only by company financial distress, so not recurring revenue. Mostly HR seeking moral and procedural cover from peers for an ugly mandate. Possible one-shot consulting, weak as a product.
7toxic-bossweak buyer
The boss, not the employee, is the problem: technically strong but emotionally unskilled, bullying, or forcing resignations the team cannot escape.
What HR does now HR mediates / shields the team / reduces the boss's direct contact / (rarely) removes the boss / team endures
Would they pay? Lead+D's true territory, but the buyer is the boss or the boss's boss, never the HR person venting here. The person feeling the pain cannot authorize spend. Strong positioning and content, weak direct buyer through this channel.
7grievance-no-channelmoderate buyer
There is nowhere safe to complain: no neutral ER function, the only path runs through the boss you accuse, and speaking up is assumed to invite retaliation.
What HR does now complain up the chain (risky) / collect evidence quietly / endure / do not quit / DIY
Would they pay? Genuine infrastructure void: no neutral speak-up channel and complaining is seen as self-harm. A safe third-party grievance channel is buildable, but it is a leadership/enterprise buy surfaced here as helplessness. Moderate if you reach the right door.

So what — for the คุณวุฒิ conversation

Two fires here touch real money and a real budget owner: exit / legal risk (severance, lawsuits) and no safe speak-up channel (a grievance-ER void). Both are moderate buyers, and both are bought by the boss's boss, not the HR generalist venting in this chat. Toxic-boss is our best content but our worst direct buyer — the person in pain cannot authorize spend. The move stays the same: reach the person who owns the fire and the budget, lead with the fire, not with "manager development."
